#YesSheCan – Our Learnings

This week, our head of research, Celine had the opportunity to attend the #YesSheCan event, a day devoted to empowering women through leadership, personal development, and meaningful connections. The event gathered women from various industries, creating an environment rich with shared experiences, fresh perspectives, and practical advice. It was a day designed not just for learning but for growth, reflection, and collaboration.

One of the standout sessions focused on the theme of identifying and embracing personal strengths, led by Sophie Turner. Celine shared how this exercise began as a seemingly daunting task—identifying 24 individual strengths felt like an overwhelming challenge at first. However, with guidance, participants were encouraged to dig deep, exploring both their personal and professional lives. This reflective approach left Celine with a renewed sense of confidence and a better understanding of how these strengths could serve as a foundation for further growth.

Another session, led by Gail Grace, tackled the topic of stress and burnout—issues that are all too common in today’s demanding world. Gail’s insights into how stress affects individuals differently were paired with practical strategies to identify and manage these stressors effectively. The session also encouraged participants to continue their learning, recommending resources like The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor to further explore the science behind well-being and performance.

Communication was a key focus of the day, with Anjana Rajani MSc EMCC FCIPD CTA-O introducing participants to Transactional Analysis, a framework that sheds light on unconscious biases and patterns that influence how we interact with others. The session offered not only greater self-awareness but also actionable techniques to enhance professional communication.

The day concluded with a session on networking, where participants were given the tools and confidence to navigate networking environments more effectively. What stood out most to Celine was how these practical exercises transformed networking from an intimidating task into an opportunity for meaningful connection and professional growth.

Reflecting on the day, Celine highlighted the contagious energy in the room—the kind that comes from people sharing stories, learning from one another, and supporting each other’s development. The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration, community, and the spaces we create to uplift one another.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the team behind #YesSheCan, especially Sophie Turner, Gail Grace, and Rebecca Wallis, for curating such a thoughtful and impactful event. To the speakers and participants, your contributions made this day not just informative but transformative.

Celine returned from the event with fresh perspectives, new tools, and an even stronger commitment to growth, and we’re proud to have been part of this experience.
