    There is nothing like seeing a business from the inside, speaking to existing employees and absorbing the “feel” of the working environment. Whether it takes an hour or a day, we like to align early by spending time with our clients and working out their cultural DNA

  • 2. Research & Discovery

    We use every possible source of information to map, connect with and attract appropriate talent for each brief. Technology plays an important role, but investing time getting to know the motivations and feedback of the key players in the market is of the utmost importance at this stage.

  • 3. Progress Reports & Market Feedback

    Our clients receive regular and comprehensive progress reports which provide valuable insight and feedback from the market on the opportunity and employer brand.

  • 4. Assessment & Shortlisting

    Shortlisted candidates will typically have spoken to our research and lead consultants on two or three occasions before a comprehensive competency and biographic interview in person. It is our intention to both assess candidate suitability and to build a strong understanding of their personal motivations in making a career choice.

  • 5. Acceptance, Resignation & On-boarding

    Our role continues during this key period, supporting the successful applicant through the often difficult resignation process. With notice periods of up to 12 months, we don’t consider the assignment complete until you are working together and benefitting from the appointment.

    Externally, we’re making real progress placing leaders from under-represented groups and in 2020 we’re delighted to report that 19% were BAME and 48% were women.

    In 2020, representation on our shortlists was

    which increased to

    48% female and 19% BAME

    in respect of the successful candidates.

    On-Boarding & Executive Coaching

    We are extremely proud to have developed a partnership with Open Reflexion, a leading Executive Coaching company led by Annie Sullivan and Lynn Watkinson.

    Open Reflexion offer a range of executive coaching programmes tailored to deliver measurable and sustainable change for individuals, teams and organisations.  They recognise that every situation is unique and take time and great pride in ensuring the best possible match between client and their many highly qualified coaches.

    As part of our commitment to delivering both quality and value to our clients, we include Open Reflexion’s First 90 Day coaching programme in our service offer.

    After the time and resource invested by all parties in a identifying, attracting, assessing and appointing a high quality leader to an organisation, we believe it is vital to protect and leverage that investment to create the best possible platform for success. In our experience, very few internal on-boarding plans go beyond basic inductions and introductions.

    Interim Projects

    As part of our commitment to delivering a total solution to our clients’ resourcing needs, we are often asked to secure an experienced interim.

    Our search work and personal networks, together with an “always-on” approach to talent engagement means we are well connected to a considerable pool of individuals open to interim assignments or short-term projects. Approximately 25% of our work comes from interim assignments, consultancy projects or fixed term contracts.

    Salary Benchmarking

    Our collective experience, functional and sector expertise provides us with real-time understanding of market dynamics, salary levels and benefits packages.

    We use this knowledge to advise our clients during all assignment briefings but we can extend this capability to deliver bespoke projects for specific requirements. For example:

    • Support Compensation & Benefits team to ensure client offering is upper quartile versus sector
    • Evaluate recommendations provided by Hay Grading exercise and evidence reasons to challenge
    • Educate client seeking to hire someone with “a fresh perspective from outside the sector” on salary and package variations
    • Support client considering a new bonus structure regarding key criteria and market expectations

    By combining our market expertise, extensive networks and search capability we have been able to support many of our clients beyond pure headhunting assignments.
