Finance Director

Introduction

Our client’s business was founded by some very smart people, who a few years ago, had the idea to bring great tasting food to our tables.

 

Fast forward to today, and the business put a firm platform in place to scale further and is now aiming for the stars. Future and realistic revenue targets are to double in size, to c£70m within the next c3 years, largely through organic growth. The central focus is on put putting the consumer at the heart of their strategy, coupled with a compelling innovation pipeline across the existing portfolio and beyond, into new subcategories, reinforcing a premium positioning (and taste!) that is the envy of many.

 

The strategy has been and will continue to be backed through significant A&P spend. The UK market accounts for the largest share of revenue and is their biggest market in Europe. This is a brilliant SME with strong, growing brands, investment to back them up and a dynamic, motivated Leadership Team.

The Role

Reporting to the UK & European Country Manager

The Finance Director will have full financial accountability for the UK organisation, bringing both a strategic and operational approach, whilst also providing a strong business partnering ethos. There will be an additional emphasis on the need to play a key role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, considering the broader picture to drive overall business growth and profitability.

The role will particularly suit someone looking to step into that first and so far, illusive first or possibly second rotation as Finance Director, perhaps looking to move to an SME environment where you can make a true difference and have real accountability.

You must be able to demonstrate

  • Proven success as Head of Finance or Finance Director in a mid-large-scale business
  • Established experience across key areas in Finance, including, FP&A, Revenue Growth and ideally a good knowledge of data /analytics
  • Ownership of the annual operating plan, ensuring robust, detailed, bottom up approach
  • Evidence of ownership or management of trade gross & net sales revenue to ensure margin management in line with plans
  • A Business Partner approach that adds value at a strategic and operational level – eg, close collaboration and influence of pricing strategy by channel, brand, pack etc
  • The ability to lead and influence at all levels, including peers in Senior Leadership Team, in tandem with experience of managing direct teams
