As part of a dynamic group of companies, our client is a fast-growing steel fabrications business based in the West Midlands.
Following their acquisition 2 years ago, the business is now looking to appoint a hands-on Managing Director.
With full P&L accountability across their 2 sites and a headcount of circa 150 employees, the incumbent will balance their time driving both the operational and commercial agenda.
This will involve looking at a holistic change management programme, incorporating the implementation of best-practice systems and process, reviewing and optimising the organisational structure and instilling a positive performance culture.
Longer term, the group will continue their growth trajectory through future acquisitions so the opportunity for the role to grow organically to encompass future sites is very realistic.
You must be able to demonstrate
- A proven track record leading operations in a relevant metals-based manufacturing environment, ideally with prior P&L accountability and effectively balancing strategy with hands-on management.
- The opportunity suits someone who is potentially stepping up into an MD role for the first time and is focussed on the long-term journey and prospects presented.
- A continuous improvement mind-set is crucial and prior knowledge of implementing best-practice systems and processes from a conceptual stage.
- Excellent communications skills that work from shop floor to boardroom and positive, engaging leadership style.
A competitive salary and benefits package with mapped out and quantified pay reviews after year 1 and year 2.
For the right person, this represents an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing business at the beginning of their journey, with a very real prospect of getting involved in an IPO in the next few years.Apply for this role
